Ninety percent of children with disabilities do not receive any form of education in India. Amar Seva Sangam is working hard to change this by providing disabled children with the opportunity to receive a quality education in an integrated school environment. In 1981, Mr. S. Ramakrishnan founded the Sivasaraswathi Vidyala Nursery School in Ayikudy Village. The school has evolved into both a well respected high school and a nursery/primary school; 10% of the student population is physically disabled.
