Shri S. Ramakrishnan, who was normal, was doing his final year at the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore. While doing the Naval recruitment exercises, he fell down during the test and suffered multiple spine injuries which resulted in complete paralysis below the neck and total amnesia below C3 and C4 rib cage. He did not lose his courage and enthusiasm. After intense self-rehabilitation, he wanted to serve the society and spend his remaining life meaningfully. He decided to do something concrete and really useful to the under-privileged section of the society in his area and started Amar Seva Sangam, named after his Doctor Air Marshall Amarjit Singh Chahal in 1981, the International year of the disabled, was registered under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, 1975.

Doctor (General Surgeon). He is a practicing Doctor for the past 33 years. He has his own nursing home at Surandai. His association with Sangam dates back to 25 years and rendering free service to our Sangam.

Shri S. Sankara Raman is a wheelchair user affected by Muscular Dystrophy, and a practicing Chartered Accountant. He left his lucrative practice at Chennai, joined Amar Seva Sangam in 1992. As a young professional his dream was to build a “Valley for the Disabled” with Shri. S. Ramakrishnan. Their vision is to make Amar Seva Sangam a model centre catering to all the needs of the disabled.

Shri.Visvanathan Ganesan, Joint Secretary

Visvanathan Ganesan, a Chartered Accountant and IT Professional with more than 30 years of experience in Finance and Information Technology is passionate about social causes. He is assisting the Sangam in technology based rehabilitation, integrating organisation with latest technologies and tools besides driving the CSR Cell to identify and take up cost saving and social development projects.

Mr.T.V.Subramanian, Rtd. Reserve Bank Officer. He has been associated with our Sangam for the past several years and contributing his service and ideas for the development of Amar Seva Sangam.

Smt.S.Pattamal, Committee Member

Smt.S.Pattamal, Committee Member

Smt.S. Pattammal is a retired District Educational Officer, Tamil Nadu. She is volunteering to look after and administrating the integrated schools of the Sangam. She has glorious experience as Higher Secondary Teacher, Head Master and retired as District Education Officer in 2003. She is associated with Amar Seva Sangam for the past 20 years.

Mr.S.Anbu Ramesh, BE (Mechanical), PG (Dipl.) Business Management is a Retd. Sr. Manager (Maintenance), Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. He is a blood donor (O+ve) since 1978, donated 133 times so far and has participated in several seminars, conferences related to blood donation. He has served as an Employee Volunteer in the Territorial Army - Refinery & Pipeline Division for 22 Years. Donated Blood during his Annual Training camps and also organized Blood Donation Camps and helped Military Hospital. He is actively involved in the motivation of eye donation campaigns. He is one of the active volunteers of Amar Seva Sangam since its inception.

Shri. N. Alagappan, Committee Member

I finished my Primary School education at my village and higher secondary school education at Sri Parama Kalyani Hr Secondary School, Alwarkurichi. I continued college education at Sri Parama Kalyani College Alwarkuichi and finished my degree in Mathematics. Then I completed my Master degree in Mathematics at Government College Coimbatore. Briefly worked as Assistant Professor of Mathematics in Sri Parama Kalyani college, when Sri K.H. Narayanan was Principal. Due to abolition of Pre- University Course, I shifted my job as a Management Trainee at South India Bank Limited ( Tinnevelly). I was Manger at Ayikudy in 1983-1984.During this period I got attached with Sri Ramakrishnanan and tried to grow the Sangam. I finished my CAIIB examination in 1987. Then in 1990, it was merged with Indian Oversea Bank. Retied in the year 2012 as Senior Manager in Vigilance Department, Central Office Chennai. Now I'm retired.
